Minor staining to the top of the front label and box.

Bottle Description

First introduced in 1999 as a non age stated expression which evolved into the age stated 15 year old in 2007 when the distillery undertook a rebrand accross It's core range although it was 10 years later in 2017 when the ''Darkest'' subtitle was omitted after another distillery rebranding excercise. Matured for 12 years in ex-Bourbon barrles then finished for the final 3 years in Oloroso Sherry Casks.

Distillery Information

Founded in 1779 by John Simpson and then bought over by James Mutter in the mid 1930's. He introduced innovative processes to the distillery during his ownership, but it closed in 1915 due to the war effort and was closed again in World War 2 for the same reason. In 1925 the distillery was sold by the Mutter family and bought by J.B.Sheriff & co. By 1950 the distillery changed hands again and over the decades would eventually become known as Morrison Distiller's Ltd. Shareholders Suntory then took over in 1994. Bowmore Distillery over the years have produced some of the most revered whiskies in existence and is widely regarded amongst experts in the industry.
