Alloway Legend 12 Year Old is a commemorative blended Scotch whisky produced by the Alloway Scotch Whisky Co. to honor Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns. The name Alloway is also famous as the setting of Burns' epic poem Tam o' Shanter, where the farmer escapes a group of witches at Alloway's Auld Kirk by crossing the Brig o' Doon.
Volume I is the first instalment in a special series designed like a book, telling the story of Burns Cottage in Alloway, Ayrshire, where Robert Burns was born in 1759 and spent the first seven years of his life (1759–1766).
