Alloway Legend 12 Year Old is a commemorative blended Scotch whisky produced by the Alloway Scotch Whisky Co. to honor Scotland's national bard, Robert Burns. The name Alloway is also famous as the setting of Burns' epic poem Tam o' Shanter, where the farmer escapes a group of witches at Alloway's Auld Kirk by crossing the Brig o' Doon.
Volume II is the second instalment in a special series designed like a book, telling the story of Burns' father taking up the lease of the farm Mount Oliphant, situated only three miles from Ayr. His father ramained at the farm for eleven years before leaving to take up a lease on another farm (1766-1777).
This particular lot is accompanied with a certificate that tells the story of Mount Oliphant including the bottle number.
